Hurricane Ian’s preferred pronoun is “it.”

8

u/Sarelm Sep 30 '22

I think this tweet is the only time I've seen someone refer to the hurricane with anything besides 'it.' And instead it's a use of 'they' in singular form, which honestly feeds into the irony.

u/PinkyJudge Sep 29 '22

These weirdos are OBSESSED with hating trans people.

Can you imagine how trash your life must be if your first thought about everything is - lets make this about abusing trans people.

But yeah, we are the nazis.

50

u/signaturefox2013 Sep 29 '22

I never understood how someone can make their entire life’s purpose hating a certain group of people.

Like, it takes more effort to hate someone than to just feel neutral.

7

u/SgtSmackdaddy Sep 29 '22

I never understood how someone can make their entire life’s purpose hating a certain group of people.

“If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.” - LBJ

3

u/thefifthfourththird Sep 29 '22

Well if you're an amoral shitbag it's easy. And a win, win,win Look over there and be ANGRY. 1: you're angry so you're not thinking as clearly. 2: you're not looking in the direction of the shitty things I'm doing to fuck you over. 3: I'll have more voters.

11

u/AsukaBunnyxO Sep 29 '22

Yeah, well, they get away with that because our own society so badly wanted to pretend that trans people don't exist that they never fucking told us trans people were targeted in the Holocaust

1

u/signaturefox2013 Sep 29 '22

The Buddha said it best, “Holding onto anger is like drinking poison, and expecting the other person to die”

-3

u/AsukaBunnyxO Sep 29 '22

What the hell is that supposed to mean in this context.

5

u/signaturefox2013 Sep 29 '22

Holding onto anger just ruins your own life and not the lives of others. Being perpetually angry isn’t healthy and leads to an early grave, where as the people you hate and drank poison over, are still alive, unharmed by the decision to hold onto anger that slowly killed you

Or something philosophical, I’m actually really tired

-2

u/AsukaBunnyxO Sep 29 '22 edited Sep 30 '22

Are you really telling me not to be angry that my people have been severely abused throughout all of history to this day, to the point where we are forgotten Holocaust victims

Mind your fucking business you god damned moron

4

u/signaturefox2013 Sep 29 '22

That’s not anger, that’s resentment, two different emotions.

If you stay in that place and never grow from your experiences, then have you lived life? Anger is a toxic emotion for anyone, resentment on the other hand is an emotion that only comes after you’ve come to peace that you can’t change the past but can change the future.

I honestly feel for you. I have had many friends in my life who’ve been molested or abused. I myself am a domestic abuse survivor. Being angry at what my dad did to me, doesn’t change anything, except make me angry. I can resent that man and everything he stands for, I can spit on the ground he walks on, but anger does nothing.

Does that make sense or am I rambling?

7

u/PinkyJudge Sep 29 '22

I know you mean well but people are allowed to have emotions even if it's uncomfortable to hear. This is the time to take a step back.

-3

u/AsukaBunnyxO Sep 29 '22

Don't lecture minorities on how to feel about being genocided ever again.

3

u/signaturefox2013 Sep 29 '22

I can see we don’t see eye to eye on this topic

As a queer person, I have faced discrimination myself, however, not even close to the level described.

Actually one of the museums where I live is the Candles Holocaust Museum. It was owned by Eva Kor who, along with her twin sister, were experimented on by Joseph Mengele. I remember watching interviews with her before her death, and I don’t even want to imagine the pain and destruction that I’ve learned about those detestable events.

My intent is never to offend, my intent was to pose a philosophical conversation about anger using a quote I live by. I honestly do apologize from the bottom of my heart if anything I said offended you and I take full responsibility on lack of sensitivity.

-6

u/AsukaBunnyxO Sep 29 '22

It was inappropriate, you're extremely narcissistic stop responding

I lost my aged mother to Fox. It's perfectly plausible. I see it nearly every day. It became her reason for living.

5

u/PinkyJudge Sep 29 '22

My mother-in-law is like this as well. It really sucks.

3

u/Parking_Sky9709 Sep 29 '22

Yeah, it's one of those, "This can't possibly happen to that sweet old lady" kind of unbelievable things.

It does indeed suck.

29

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '22

2,487 likes? Really? This is some fourth grade level of cleverness.

23

u/Murica-n_Patriot Sep 29 '22

When your entire identity is “trump conservative” then your humor will have nearly zero depth. It’s not even funny to the people who follow them, it’s really just another form of confirmation bias.

6

u/JackWorthing Sep 29 '22

Mostly bots

7

u/KSwe117 Sep 29 '22

This would imply it's clever at all.

It's not.

5

u/Gsteel11 Sep 29 '22

This is some fourth grade level of cleverness.

That's top tier shit for them.

7

u/Buffmin Sep 29 '22

Fourth grade cleverness is two grades about the average conservatives ability to be clever so on that curve it's pretty clever

30

u/WilhelmWrobel Sep 29 '22

There's this interesting study that Hurricanes with female names have more casualties, not because they are more severe, but a lot of people with internalized biases take a natural catastrophe less serious if it's "female".

Yes, I wish I were making that up.

No, I'm - in fact - not making that up.

9

u/reddox-_- Sep 29 '22

It’s a MAN’S job to be a devastating hurricane /s

4

u/CoffeeAddict1011 Sep 29 '22

No fucking way

23

u/42words Sep 29 '22 edited Sep 29 '22

this tweet is a perfect, textbook example of how conservative humor is literally just something that initially sounds like someone scoring cheap dunks on the stupid stuff conservatives believe but no, it's just actually 100 percent conservatives unironically believing the stupid stuff

2

u/marsangelo Sep 30 '22

Its quintessential republican humour, just a short demeaning quip that really doesnt make any sense. Incoherent anger and considered clever to someone low iq who hasn’t experienced cleverness

12

u/SuperGenius98K Sep 29 '22

All conservatives have left is hate, hate and more hate.

4

u/signaturefox2013 Sep 29 '22

Hate and fear

And if you don’t understand something, it’s easy to make more hate and fear, that’s Lovecraft Principle

1

u/LegalAssassin13 Sep 29 '22

That explains the racism and xenophobia

1

u/xThe_Maestro Sep 29 '22

Less hate, pity for the individuals and contempt for those looking to virtue signal off of supporting their delusions. If I see a homeless person I pity their condition as it obviously causes them distress, if I see a transgender person I pity them because they obviously have some kind of disorder or trauma that causes them to be divorced from reality. I view leftists who push transgenderism as a healthy lifestyle in the same light I view slumlords, parasites.

48

u/the_bionic_investor Sep 29 '22

Anyone who says they “don’t care about pronouns”, just start using the opposite ones of the gender they appear to be and see how fast they lose their shit.

4

u/AsukaBunnyxO Sep 29 '22 edited Sep 30 '22

See the other response you got?

This.

These people have zero empathy for others and they think they've been thru actual misgendering simply because of things like Chinese people often mistaking he and she (close friend and their family first language is Cantonese, they're not wrong, it's common... I never asked why so idk).

-2

u/Mythical_Atlacatl Sep 29 '22

I dont care about pronouns and am regularly misgendered at work, I believe it has something to do with Chinese not having gendered words or they use the same for he and she?

doesnt bother me cause i know my gender and calling me the wrong one doesnt impact me.

-1

u/xThe_Maestro Sep 29 '22

That's... weird. If I don't humor someone with schizophrenia who thinks that Genghis Khan is talking to them, why would I lose my shit if you asked me what the Great Khan thinks of the weather today? Just makes you look crazy.

2

u/the_bionic_investor Sep 29 '22

The hell are you talking about?

6

u/Some-Newspaper7014 Sep 29 '22

The transphobia-to-brainrot pipeline is fucking real.

8

u/Alarmed_Economics_90 Sep 29 '22

"Hi, I'm a human, it would appear, but please don't expect me to reason any better than the wind."

8

u/Buffmin Sep 29 '22

To be a conservative must be incredibly tiring. To be so full of hate and scorn for those different from you

5

u/LincolnCassiusClay47 Sep 29 '22

Why are they so mad about culture war shit when they are the ones who are always upset at culture?

6

u/Flynn3698 Sep 29 '22

All I know is there's probably loads of Floridians that wish DeSantis would send them to Martha's Vineyard right now.

5

u/spaceyjaycey Sep 29 '22

Oh the people affected are just going to get such a chuckle from this!

6

u/feelinggoodfeeling Sep 29 '22

3

u/mrwhat_icanthearu Sep 29 '22

3

u/Arcadius274 Sep 29 '22

I wish her leaky pipes and clogged toilets

3

u/cgill24 Sep 29 '22

Funny that she used “their”

7

u/Hermelius Sep 29 '22

I saw one post about this suggesting we use "they/them" just to piss DeSantis off.

2

u/Stuckatpennstation Sep 29 '22

Lol or he/they to really make his mind explode

2

u/Gsteel11 Sep 29 '22

According to her it has to have xx or xy. We better do a DNA test!

2

u/signaturefox2013 Sep 29 '22

Turns out it’s 100% a hurricane

1

A.. THIRD GENDER!

That's scientifically impossible!

2

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '22

2

u/OldChucker Sep 29 '22

2

u/el_ra_85 Sep 29 '22

It is shit and storm

2

u/awe2D2 Sep 29 '22

When conservatives get a new joke, every single one of them has to use it 100 times each before they're allowed to make up another one. I don't know why, it's in the Bible or constitution or something

2

u/SkyWizarding Sep 29 '22

These people couldn't possibly talk about anything other than pronouns

2

u/birdboix Sep 29 '22

THE ONE JOOOOOOOOKE

2

u/Jewlaboss Sep 29 '22

No but it’s definitely a sign from your sky daddy that you’re doing it wrong. Heeees watching you Florida!

2

u/silasoulman Sep 29 '22

The Hurricane doesn’t care, but there’s only one party that denied federal emergency funds after a disaster. I think we should not give Florida federal aid like they denied NJ for hurricane Sandy. I mean DeSantis voted against giving aid. I assume he wouldn’t take it now unless he was a cowardly, hypocritical, corrupt POS. Or is he?

2

u/Icy_Figure_8776 Sep 29 '22

Always pathetic when people try too hard to be funny

1

u/ChuckBorris187 Sep 29 '22

Ask them about their pronouns after it kills a few dozen people.

1

u/Angel-nichols Sep 29 '22

Yeah Bridgitt, I went out there, in it's high winds and heavy rains, as it violently ripped roofs from houses, and I confirmed, it's indeed a dick

1

u/Garlador Sep 29 '22

They really do focus on the important issues of our time, don’t they.

1

u/Particular_One_4550 Sep 29 '22

Ian is a dude because he’s there to fuck Florida and not call again.

1

u/AsukaBunnyxO Sep 29 '22

God, fuck these people they're inhuman demons.

1

u/Stubert-the-Smooth Sep 29 '22

I mean, Florida didn't, and look how that turned out.

1

u/signaturefox2013 Sep 29 '22

Honestly the amount of times I’ve just asked for someone’s pronouns as a pick up line or an introduction at something like a job interview really makes me wonder what the issue is.

Like I have a very feminine voice and act very feminine so people ask me sometimes and I’m happy to just say “he/him” and honestly it’s insane that people get mad over something so trivial that doesn’t involve them

1

u/Sharp_Discipline6544 Sep 29 '22

The hurricane's pronouns are wrecker/destroyer.

1

u/signaturefox2013 Sep 29 '22

Flooding / Property Destruction

1

u/LivingDisastrous3603 Sep 29 '22

Sometimes Suffering/Death.

But what a good joke, Brigitte, you fucking decrepit sack of shit.

1

u/Secretofthecheese Sep 29 '22

1

u/Zeus_Hera Sep 29 '22

I thought this was mocking Republicans because who cares

1

u/100percentish Sep 29 '22

It's pronounced HER-icane, not HIM-icane.

1

u/lemmiwinks316 Sep 29 '22

What a completely worthless thing to say about an extreme weather event that is going to ruin lives. Conservatives really are just shitposters. Zero regard for the seriousness of the tasks ahead of us or the ones we're dealing with now. Just starting shit and muddying the waters of political debate with grand delusions of being hyper rational thinkers when in reality they're corporate shills with nothing to bring to the table in terms of real positive change.

1

u/Wayte13 Sep 29 '22

It is when the GOP needs to distract from Desantis kissing Biden's ass for relief funds lol

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '22

Can these people not be massive twats for like 5 minutes?

1

u/Flopamp Sep 29 '22

Who the fuck genders a hurricane?

1

u/ERankLuck Sep 29 '22

Right-wing dipshits have one joke and it wasn't funny when it was first said.

1

u/XenontheProto Sep 29 '22

It’s pronouns are Who/osh

1

u/Professional_Plant52 Sep 29 '22

Meanwhile it’s a liberal president that came up with a plan to fund Florida ahead of this hurricane

1

u/HowVeryReddit Sep 29 '22

It's fluid.

And gas.

1

u/dubiousadvocate Sep 29 '22

Dunno. Maybe Trump could nuke it?

1

u/formenonly Sep 29 '22

Is there a conservative thought that isn't a logical fallacy anymore?

1

u/godthisbooksucks Sep 29 '22

Mam there is a hurricane about to hit you can be hateful after

1

u/Mr_Epimetheus Sep 29 '22

I believe all hurricanes identify as wreck/yo shit.

Best not to be a churlish shit when it comes to natural disasters that will likely kill quite a few people.

1

u/Expensive-Argument-7 Sep 29 '22

She knows those are her people getting fucked up right?

1

u/Italian98com Sep 29 '22

Wow that's such a good one. How does she even come up with this stuff. Genius.

1

u/Dkaiser1919 Sep 29 '22

Hurricane Ian prefer pronoun is destruction

1

u/Thistlesmithy Sep 29 '22

Ian aka the "Cape Coral Kidfinder" goes by he/him if I am not mistaken.

1

u/CupidArrowArt Sep 29 '22

Peoples homes are being destroyed, Brigitte; get your stupid priorities in order.

1

u/WookieSuave Sep 29 '22

1

u/CupidArrowArt Sep 30 '22

Yeah, you really can't count on any American politician

1

u/RogueKyber Sep 29 '22

I mean. You’re already using “their.” So clearly you know how to be neutral about pronouns, you just choose to suck.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '22

What a dumb bitch

1

u/ClashCoyote Sep 29 '22

Have you ever had an intelligent thought in your life? Jeez these ppl are endless.

1

u/TryingToEscapeTarkov Sep 29 '22

That is an absolute shit take from a horrible person. That being said; she got you to circulate her entire tweet to a bunch of people that normally wouldn't have seen it. So she evil AF but she is also social media savvy. That is so 2022.

1

u/Chris-Castle- Sep 29 '22

and this post is anything different

1

u/PurpleSquare713 Sep 29 '22

Of all the shit takes I've heard, this is an new one.

1

u/BippyTheChippy Sep 29 '22

Well Brigette used singular they so that's a win in my book

1

u/jdafixa Sep 29 '22

Brigitte's pronoun is "cunt"

1

u/armchairwarrior69 Sep 29 '22

I wonder, how do the people affected by his feel about thay shit

1

u/BowlerCompetitive380 Sep 30 '22

How to tell folks you have a pathetic life....

1

u/AshDenver Sep 30 '22

They name hurricanes in advance, alternating male to female. I’d much prefer that to Delta and Bets and all the other alphabet options possible. I’m still having PTSD from this COVID stuff. Weather events are generic - they, it, whatevs.

1

u/WilmaFamous Sep 30 '22

The way she “they’d” them tho lol

1

u/feed_me_the_gherkin Sep 30 '22

Next time let Florida just burn.

1

u/NoFnClue1234 Sep 30 '22

I love how the thick-skinned conservatives have had a years long meltdown over needing to know what genitals strangers have.

1

u/Visual_Conference421 Sep 30 '22

Why is it that the argument I see from so many people against Trans people or nonbinary or such seems to be “I am bully to these people”?

2

u/signaturefox2013 Sep 30 '22

Lovecraft’s Principle

If you don’t understand something, you can fear it and hate it

1

Has anyone asked Brigitte Gabriel if she is aware that she is a cunt?

1

u/Affectionate_Grape61 Sep 30 '22

I can’t find my parents. This woman is evil.

1

u/LanguishViking Sep 30 '22

I'm pretty sure it's "Ian Smash!"/"Strongest Hurricane!"

1

u/Lomalizer Sep 30 '22

I bet that Ian prefers her mom deep up its own turbulance.

Make fun of Democrats = Bad Taste

Both parties are hilariously immature cults.

1

Oh yea definitely the same situation, /s

Both parties using human tragedy to mock the other political side.

Totally the same situation. Your cult jokes are more acceptable than their cult jokes. I get it.

Not totally the same situation, but good try trying to equate the two.
